The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales, headquartered in Chancery
Lane, London in the heart of legal London, a stone’s throw from the Royal Courts of Justice
and the Inns of Court.
Southend-on-Sea District Law Society (SOSDLS) is the local arm of the larger organization,
representing local solicitors in the area from the city of Southend on Sea to Grays; north to
Wickford and beyond.
Established in 1911, SOSDLS has been fostering good relations and support from fellow
legal professionals to each other, offering opportunities to socialise and to learn locally. We
are dedicated to supporting solicitors and ensuring the highest standards of practice in our
busy part of Essex. Our mission is to provide a platform for solicitors to connect, collaborate,
and thrive.
We give input to the main Law Society through our council member for Essex, via
membership of our solicitors on policy committees and in feedback sessions. From
negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government, and others, to offering
training and advice, we're here to help, protect, and promote solicitors across England and
Wales.
